Population: 74K, Mayor Rating: 58%

I've grown my city slowly from approximately the mid 20ks to where it is now: 74k people. Yay!
Unfortunately my mayoral rating is pretty dismal, a whopping 58% approval rate. I'm not sure how to boost this. Maybe I need some rail line since I see all that traffic across my bridges. Anyone have any suggestions?

What makes a city happy besides (economic) prosperity? Parks, Stadiums, ... or perhaps another (adjacent) city to travel to? Traffic problems always downgrade the approval rating.

Your Shangri-La is a very strict grid city imposed on a landscape/territory that is very irregular.

Why?

In addition to commenting on what is happening or what currently exists, you should comment on why you are making certain design decisions - particularly those that affect the overall result of the city (i.e. the decision to go "grid" rather than "loose".).

Rachel, I had alot of trouble getting past 30k. Then I added a stadium and my population/demand jumped to about 50k.

I definately have some parks tucked away into the crevices. But I'm not sure how much they're helping me without have a more in depth knowledge of the AI computation.
Also, I'm trying not to bulldoze trees just to put a park in.
